With age and sobriety, Michael McDonald is ready to get personal

Even Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Michael McDonald says he feels prefer an imposter sometimes.

"I don't signify to be self-deprecating when I tell this, but I never really understood why people gave me so much credit as a musician," McDonald says. "I really am just, more or less, a songwriter who plays a little bit of piano."

It's an understatement. McDonald's remarkable sound that has captivated audiences for generations and has given life to remixes, remakes and thousands of impressions from Tonight Exhibit skits to The Voice.

His fresh memoir, What A Fool Believes, which he co-wrote with comedian Paul Reiser, chronicles McDonald's childhood in Ferguson, MO., his early years as a session musician and his decades-long career as a member of Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers and as a solo artist.

Throughout his career, McDonald was known for crossover hits. His 1982 single, "I Keep Forgettin'," cracked the top 10 of Billboard's Pop, R&B and Mature person Contemporary charts, and was later sampled by hip-hop artists Warren G and Nate Dogg in their 1994 punch, "Regulate."

Lorne Michaels hired Taran Killam after he did MADtv and Jordan Peele has stated that he was offered a gig on SNL when his contract was up at MADTV but Fox/MADtv blocked him from doing it.

I'm still shocked he never tried to earn Debra Wilson who has done more than just "ok" since she left the series.

SNL alums, when they do end up doing projects, also hire other SNL alums. It was always considered "prestigious" when someone was a cast member.

[quote]Being Asian hasn't stopped Ken Jeong from being successful.

You're right! Because Ken Jeong booked a minor role in Bradley Cooper's, "The Hangover" which launched his career (after he ran around with his dick out upon his own suggestion) that means ALL ASIAN ACTORS face NO FURTHER roadblocks in Hollywood!

Things are excel now than ever before but Ken got lucky.

[quote]Is SNL actually broadcasted live? I've never gotten that impression.

The Live part is the draw. There is a 7 second postpone just in case they need it but as R175 said, while the digital shorts
