Q: The exhibit is being hailed as unabashedly queer as compared to the film adaptation. Why was that essential to both of you and the show’s creators?
SR: It’s what’s written in the book. We’re doing the book and it’s the way it’s supposed to be.
JA: It’s accurate to the story.
SR: It’s true to what Anne wanted and, yeah… it’s time.
JA: It would be rude not to.
SR: Yeah.

Q: How important was it for the two of you to get this aspect of the story (the queerness of the books) not only rectify, but to tell the full breadth and aspect of this very one-of-a-kind relationship?
JA: (…) For one, we have to confirm that the books are very queer. I contemplate that IWTV Louis is not talking about it, at least in terms of Lestat.
SR: Until you get to the second half of the novel. By the second half of the book, Louis does sort of open to acknowledge that it was something more, which I think is such a cool… (…) I think the relationship, the way Louis describes it in the beginning is sort of like, is it subtext or has he acknowledge
Sam Reid
Just got support from seeing "Belle" and am hopelessly in lust with Sam Reid. I didn't realize it was the identical guy from "Anonymous" and "The Railway Man" -- but, omg, he's so unbelievably gorgeous. And that voice! I was pretty much a puddle of goo by the time movie was over.

Wonderful, r1. I loved it; Amma Asante is a promising director, and it's an opulent production (I wouldn't be shocked if it's Oscar nominated for Costume Design), but the true glory belongs to the script and the cast -- this is one of those infrequent screenplays where there's a bounty of complex themes going on throughout the film, with every character given prosperous depth, and the cast responds marvelously. Definitely one of the best films I've seen so far this year.
