Hudson County is home to great local LGBT bars and restaurants that are a fantastic way to spend an evening and feel a sense of camaraderie with other patrons. Club Six 26 is the perfect place to go for drinks and dancing, and they host a phenomenal drag brunch every weekend, so be sure to get your reservations early! On the other side of the coin is local boiling spot Pint! A Jersey City staple since 1911, they have dozens of craft beers on tap and host bingo and trivia nights every week.
While Hudson County hosts Self-acceptance Events during June every year with the linger of the country, they also do something special. They host a Hudson County specific pride month in August with lots of local events and appearances from LGBT entertainers. This special pride month let’s members of the community celebrate twice. While there are nowhere near as many gay bars in Jersey City as there are in Manhattan’s West Village, the neighborhood still has a couple of fun venues that cater to the LGBTQ+ collective. Each year Jersey City has its own Pride festival too, which has been running for over two decades and takes place in the historic downtown area around the end of August. With performative shows, parties and tons of events happening all around Newark Ave/Grove Road, it’s one of the largest Lgbtq+ fest festivals in the northeast.
Jersey City is a diverse collective with tons of great bars and restaurants, including two gay bars – Pint Bar and Six 26 – which we’ll cover below. There’s also a roving Gay Dance Party, which usually pops up each year during Pride Festival.

This tiny bar up by Grove Avenue is super amusement and serves over 50 American craft beers as adequately as 16oz cocktails.

Paying homage to the day the Marriage Equality Behave was passed in the Joined States, June 26, 2015, the name Six26 was born. On this day, the United States Supreme Court struck down all state bans on same-sex marriage, legalizing it in all 50 states, and requiring states to honor out-of-state same-sex marriage licenses in the case Obergefell v. Hodges. With a lounge that becomes a joyful and vibrant high-energy lounge and a chill garden-esque rooftop bar as the sun sets, The Six26 venue is always ready to mark life and love with all who walk through its doors.
