New Play Explores Experience Of Queer 'Farm Boys'

The Annual Summer Event Theater Festival continues this weekend in Randolph, featuring three plays that handle concerns and issues of gay and lesbian Vermonters.

One of those plays is Farm Boys, an adaptation of a 1996 book by Milwaukee writer Will Fellows.

Will Fellows was himself a male lover man raised on a Wisconsin dairy farm. For the book Farm Boys, he gathered testimony from dozens of gay men from rural areas.

Those voices come alive in this world premiere adaptation. They tell stories that show creature a good farm boy doesn’t guarantee an acceptance for being gay. Disapproval can come from all directions.

One participant says his father told him he "was a mistake." Another recalls a adolescent gay neighbor who committed suicide.

How odd for us still, after all this time, to consider coming out a brave proceed. But it's genuine for so many people in so many situations because of family and religion and nationality. So that's why these stories dependency to be told. - David Zak, director

The show features a cast of seven local actors ranging in age from 16 to 71; the performance was adapted

Hello!

It's me, Jordyn, the guy you've probably seen around in a certain Str8 Discord. I've finally started my own personal journey on a solo game project!

Farmboy And The Wolf is a coming-of-age story that follows two main characters, both 18 years old: Jesse "the farmboy" and Nathaniel "the wolf".

Nathaniel is forced to travel to the farmland with his family, where, against his preference, he volunteers to work on the farm. This is where he meets Jesse, which rapidly leads to a mix of emotions and tension between them.

The story focuses on personal growth, relationship building, and relationship. The game will heavily center on environmental storytelling with clickable objects in-game. These objects own meaning and purpose in the world, accompanied by dialogue. There will also be video visualizer moments that introduce you to new environments/locations with accompanying harmony.

Farmboy And The Wolf will not shy away from NSFW intimate moments and will use them to advance the story and character development when appropriate.

I am creating many 3D assets, visual effects, and the majority of the music for the game. This wil

Today, Los Angeles-based creator and actor Samuel Warburton shares his essay, “Farm Young man to the Giant Stage,” a reflection on his coming out journey through music that saved his life, as a part of Atwood Magazine’s Movement Month series!
Warburton started his career as a Disney Prince playing the role of Aladdin in the hit Disney musical Aladdin, which is now on Broadway. Since then, he has been seen in several films and stage musicals, and he starred in the feature film, ‘Exodus of the Prodigal Son.’ He recently found his way back into the recording studio to bring his song and voice support to life.
Warburton’s latest release, “Stained Glass,” is out now. He describes it as “a unprocessed story of coming out and exposing your true self to someone you love the most. And all you want is for them to cherish and accept you for who you are in your truest form.”
